Homemade Classic Tiramisu
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 7 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup brewed espresso
- 2 tablespoons rum
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped cream until well combined.
- In a shallow dish, mix the espresso and rum together.
- Dip the ladyfinger cookies into the espresso mixture and arrange them on the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cookies and mascarpone mixture.
- Chill the tiramisu in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.
